Underworld Riser @ Temescal Insitu

Underworld Riser is a collaboration with artists and technologists to create an interactive installation as part of Temescal Insitu, a public art project made up of 13 site-specific public poems in Oakland's Temescal District.

This interactive video projection allowed the viewer to control the flow of video clips projected on the windows of Rise Above, a gallery and print shop. Each clip was created recording the screen printing process, breaking up a poem written and printed by Gabriela Laz into six different sections. The projection is controlled by a program developed by Mark Mellor, using a micro controller and an array of six ultrasonic sensors to read input from the viewers.

Underworld Riser was a collaboration with artists and technologists where we created an interactive video projection that allowed the viewer to control the flow of video clips projected on the outside of a gallery in Oakland.
